Inner Piece - Anagama Kiln Firing
/Inner Piece video by Wayne Johnson of Pizzini Productions
19 minutes
This video by Tasman-based photography and film studio Pizzini Productions documents the process and experience within Darryl Frost’s Tasman kiln. Two hours of filming have been edited down to 19 minutes. It gives an insight into the unique processes of anagama wood firing using ancient Japanese techniques. The huge kiln is stoked over a number of days requiring a collaborative effort: the process is traditionally called ‘feed the dragon’ in Japan.
