Lisa Chandler, Burying the Dead, The Seven Acts of Mercy after the Master of Alkmaar (1504), 2022-2025, Septych, Acrylic on Plywood Panel
Ruby Bay artist Lisa Chandler continues her exploration of loss and human connection in What Remains. This new exhibition includes key works from her Landscapes of Loss show at Hastings Art Gallery.
Her paintings reflect the events and emotions of recent years — extreme weather, natural disasters, war, illness, and the displacement and hardship faced by marginalised communities both here and around the world. Despite these heavy themes, her work is grounded in empathy and care, seeing creative practice as a positive, human response in times of crisis.
