Step into a world where art and music intertwine at The Suter Art Gallery.

Join us for a special performance by the New Zealand Youth Symphonic Winds (NZYSW). This concert is part of their Winter Intensive programme, showcasing their young musicians' incredible talent and hard work. Over the past weeks, they have been honing their skills and mastering a repertoire of challenging and captivating pieces, all set to be unveiled in this unique setting.

Imagine being surrounded by stunning artworks while being serenaded by the harmonious sounds of our ensemble. It’s an experience that promises to be both visually and aurally enchanting.

New Zealand Youth Symphonic Winds is Aotearoa’s premier youth concert band and is an integral part of NZCBA’s National Bands Programme which aims to promote music-making across the country. Since it’s inception in 2012, NZYSW has been the national representative ensemble for young concert band players to develop their music skills and education, bringing together the best secondary school wind, brass, and percussion players in the ultimate show of musical engagement and collaboration. 

Winter Intensive Overview: Our Winter Intensive for the New Zealand Youth Symphonic Winds will be held in Nelson from 15-19 July. During this 4-day workshop, our talented young musicians will participate in intensive rehearsals and masterclasses, culminating in two concerts to celebrate their hard work and dedication.
