Neil Frazer, Space Shapers, 2001, oil on wood, 510 x 510mm
/Estimate $500-1000
Born in Canberra in 1961 and raised in Hamilton, New Zealand, Neil Frazer is one of the country’s foremost painters. He graduated from the Ilam School of Fine Arts in Christchurch in 1984 and has since built a successful national and international career.
Frazer’s early abstract work focuses on the act of painting itself. Using thickly applied oil paint, he restricts his means to pure pigment, form, and colour, avoiding imagery or traditional structure. Frazer uses paint, canvas, and process to create works that engage the mind, imagination, and emotions.
This lot includes two pieces each 510x 510mm
