A Walking Tour of Whakatū’s Public Art
/Join Nelson City Council’s Arts and Heritage Adviser, Tom Ransom, for a behind the scenes walking tour of the Council’s public art collection.
The tour, for you and up to three friends, begins at Civic House and winds through Rutherford Park and the central city, exploring a selection of public artworks located in our streets and parks. Along the way, Tom will share insights into the stories, history, and creative processes behind these pieces, each one owned and cared for by Council.
The tour concludes at the Suter Café, where you can relax over coffee and light refreshments. If you’re interested in the history of Nelson’s public art, this is the tour for you!
