The Suter Art Gallery, one of Nelson's most iconic cultural institutions, is proud to announce a major building repainting project that will ensure the preservation of the gallery's heritage-listed building for years to come.

The project involves repainting the exterior of the original gallery, including its distinctive heritage features, to protect and enhance its historical significance. The repainting will be carried out by Brown & Syme Painters, some of the best contractors in the business, ensuring that the work is of the highest quality.

"This is an exciting moment for The Suter Art Gallery as we embark on this essential project to preserve and enhance our historic building," said Will Murphy, marketing manager at The Suter Art Gallery. "The building is an iconic part of Nelson's cultural heritage, let’s give it the standing ovation it deserves."

The Suter Art Gallery is a non-profit, charitable organisation, and the cost of the project is a significant outlay for the gallery. The organisation is seeking donations from the community to help support this vital work and continue to provide world-class cultural experiences for its visitors.

"We're asking our community to support us in this important project," said Murphy. "Every donation, big or small, will help us to ensure that The Suter Art Gallery's building remains a source of inspiration and creativity for many years to come."

The Suter Art Gallery will be sharing regular updates on the progress of the building repainting project through its social media channels.

If you would like to contribute to the cost of this repainting project, then we invite you to make a donation to the gallery directly.
