Join us for a night of art, music and poetry at The Suter as part of the 2023 Nelson Arts Festival. Night Vision is the opening event for the festival, featuring a range of events and performances across various venues in town. At The Suter, we are open late until 8pm, offering you a chance to experience our exhibitions, live art demonstrations, live music and poetry readings.
At 5.30pm, don’t miss ‘In The Temple’, a collaboration between artist Catherine Bagnall and poet Jane Sayle. They will present their latest collection of watercolours and poems inspired by nature. Jane will read from her ecological poetry collection in the Contemplation Gallery where Catherine’s watercolour paintings will be displayed.
From 6pm to 8pm, enjoy the live music of Polly & The Minstrel in our Jane Evans Foyer. Siobhan’s heartfelt vocals, original songwriting, Nate’s sensitive guitar accompaniment, and virtuosic instrumental abilities have endeared them to audiences around the country and abroad. Lively music for all to enjoy.
From 5.30pm onwards, watch live art demonstrations with four members of The Nelson Suter Art Society in our education room and the McKee Gallery. See how they create their artworks and learn from their techniques and tips.
The Suter Cafe will stay open late for those of you wanting to delight your taste buds. Indulge in a range of scrumptious food and refreshing beverages.
Night Vision at The Suter is a night not to be missed. See you there!
