Cut n Paste Daydream / Cut n Paste Nightmare

  • The Suter Art Gallery 208 Bridge Street Nelson, 7010 New Zealand (map)

Collage is so liberating. It’s fast, and you don’t even have to be able to draw or paint. The Surrealists knew a thing or two about collage, as did the Dada that preceded them.

Join Te Whanganui-a-Tara based artist Bryce Galloway for an engaging collage and zine workshop. You'll explore the creative freedom of collage and contribute to a finished publication. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside Bryce and learn from his expertise.

About Bryce Galloway: Bryce Galloway is the creator of New Zealand’s longest-running zine, Incredibly Hot Sex with Hideous People. He is also the instigator of the Kirikiriroa Hamilton Zinefest and a member of the Wellington Zinefest board. Bryce makes music, often with longtime collaborator EE Monk under the band name Wendyhouse. His work often explores autobiographical themes with a touch of self-deprecating humour, challenging our culture of appearances.

What’s a zine? For the uninitiated, a zine (pronounced 'zeen', like 'magazine') is a rough 'n' ready amateur magazine. Originally known as fanzines, zines have evolved from their roots in fandom to embrace a wide range of eclectic topics. You'll be contributing to and taking away your own zine just two hours and a half after first arriving. Materials provided, no skill required.
