Join us on Saturday 23 March 2024 at 2pm for an engaging art talk by James Robinson, a guest artist featured in our current exhibition Disruptive Order: Abstraction from the Suter’s Collection IV.
James Robinson will share his insights and inspirations behind his piece Ocean in the Drop (Best Apocalypse Ever), a large mixed-media work that combines painting and assemblage. You will learn how he uses chaotic improvisation, recycled materials, and thought drops to create a nuanced colour field painting that reflects his personal journey and artistic evolution.
This is a rare opportunity to hear from one of New Zealand’s most innovative and prolific contemporary artists, whose work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Don’t miss this chance to see his work up close and ask him your questions.
We look forward to seeing you there! Gold coin donation is appreciated. Booking for this event is not required.
